& shy; Mu Mingren once taught in Shunchang Yinghua Middle School and Fujian Union University (predecessor of Fujian Normal University), and in the anti-Japanese period, as a lieutenant of the American aid China Air Force Flying Tigers, came to Fujian to help the anti-Japanese War. In the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery of Wenlin Mountain in Fuzhou, a line of people of Elyn paid tribute to Mu Mingren’s students buried here. Yan Ling was MU Yiren’s daughter-in-law. During the anti-Japanese War, Mu Yiren came to Fujian as a lieutenant of the US Air Force Flying Tigers to help the anti-Japanese War. Before his death, he had an indissoluble bond with Fuzhou. Before his death, he also made a will, and the Ashes would be scattered to the Minjiang River. Yesterday morning, Yan Ling and Mu Mingren’s students Chen Shiming and others also paid tribute to Mu Mingren on the bank of the Minjiang River sprinkling flowers. Chen Shiming also recalled every bit of communication with Mu Mingren. & shy; Many students of Flying Tigers are martyrs & shy; In Fuzhou Wenlin Mountain Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery, there are 20 martyrs of Yinghua Middle School, and many of these martyrs are mu Mingren’s students. As the alumni of these martyrs, Chen Shiming, who is 92 years old, will go to the cemetery to worship and sweep every Qingming Festival. Because her husband Peter left Fuzhou in a hurry, Yan Ling represented his family in the worship and sweeping activities yesterday, which made Chen Shiming very pleased. & shy; “from 1940 to 1941, mu Mingren, who was only 20 years old, served as our teacher. I was only 17 years old at that time.” Chen Shiming recalled that Mu Mingren was the English teacher of senior one of Yinghua Middle School. There were more than 70 martyrs among the students, and now he is still alive, currently, there are only about four in Fuzhou. & shy; Chen Shiming showed the reporter the last letter from mu Jingren to the shocking alumni of Yinghua Middle School in November 2005. In the letter, Mu Jingren said that he suffered from encephalitis, after getting better, I hope to come to China again. But in the following month, Mu Mingren died in the United States at the age of 85, which made Chen Shiming sigh. “He often told us, ‘his root is in China’. When I learned of his death, I specially wrote an article to remember him.” & shy; Memorial Selection of reddish yellow petals implies Chinese complex & shy; After the sacrifice and sweeping of Wenlin Mountain, Yan Ling, Chen Shiming and others came to the Minjiang River near the unenlarged Bridge and scattered petals into the Minjiang River to pay tribute to Mu Jingren. According to Yan Ling, the reason why mu Qiren’s ashes were chosen near the unenlarged Bridge was that it was located at the foot of the old site of Yinghua Middle School, which had special significance. & shy; Yan Ling also spent some thoughts on choosing the petals for memorial-the petals are made by mixing red rose petals and yellow chrysanthemum petals, “Red represents the background of five-starred red flag, and yellow represents the five-pointed star on the national flag”. Yan Ling said that the three generations of their family had an indissoluble bond with China, so they chose this way. & shy; “mu Mingren has deep feelings for Fuzhou, and Fuzhou dialect is also very good.” After the memorial ceremony, Chen Shiming said that in 1993, Mu Mingren came to Fuzhou again. When he got off the plane, he greeted him in Fuzhou dialect. At the welcome meeting of Yinghua alumni, Mu Mingren also often spoke Fuzhou dialect and Mandarin, interspersed with English, “feeling very cordial”. & shy; “He was our mentor and friend. He also served as a consultant of Tide (the only English Wall newspaper in Yangkou at that time). When he returned home in 1941, he brought the creation number back to the United States, I always cherish it.” Chen Shiming said that he still keeps the relevant materials of communication with Mu Mingren.
