This Sunday is the 26th “national day to help disabled people”, and the travel of disabled people has also become a topic of discussion among citizens recently. At the intersection of the May 4th East University, the traffic lights were filled with blind people crossing the street alerter, but the directivity was unknown. Recently, many blind people called Haidu hotline 95060 to reflect that the street crossing alerter installed on the traffic lights in Fuzhou “seems to be a little less” and its directivity is unknown. I hope more road sections will be set up with street crossing alerter. At about 10 o’clock on the 11th, the reporter came to the junction of Wusi Road and Dongda Road. There are 4 traffic lights at this intersection. It turns out that each lamp post has 2 blind people crossing the street alerter facing different directions, with a total of 8 alerter. However, the reporter only saw two cross-street alerter on one of the traffic lights, and alerter on other traffic lights had disappeared. In the remaining two alerter, when the green light on the sidewalk, the corresponding alerter will ring a “beep” tone to remind the blind to cross the street. The reporter experienced the two alerter at the intersection on the spot and found that the sound length and frequency of the two alerter were basically the same, which was difficult to distinguish. It was difficult to judge which direction was the green light according to the sound, and the direction of the blind guide was unknown. Later, the reporter visited the sections of drum screen Road, Wusi Road, Yangqiao Road, Pushang Road and so on, and found that only a small number of traffic lights at the intersections in these sections were installed with blind people crossing the street alerter, however, a alerter at the intersection of Tonghu Road and Yangqiao Road is still in a state of being unable to speak. Ms. Zhang, the blind man, suggested setting alerter at more intersections and making different settings with alerter voices. “The voice of alerter makes us mentally prepared to cross the street, which is convenient for blind people to travel and hopes to cover a wider area.” Alerter some areas need to be improved.” Ms. Zhang said that at some intersections, although alerter were set up, the length and frequency of sounds emitted by alerter in different directions were very similar, which made her easily confused in direction and might cause danger. “Relevant departments can differentiate the sound in different directions from the aspects of length, height and frequency, which is convenient for us to distinguish.” (Reporter Liu Shiquan/Wenlin Dan/picture)
