Multiple rockfall stones up to 2 meters in diameter
The landslide site is located in Nantong section, Minhou, 203 Provincial Highway, about 30 kilometers from Fuzhou city. At more than 1 pm yesterday, when the Haidu reporter drove there, there was congestion on the scene and dozens of meters of cars were lined up.
The reporter then rushed to the landslide on foot, and a forklift car dispatched by the highway department was cleaning up the rockfall at the scene. The reporter saw that the diameter of several huge stones exceeded 2 meters, which was higher than that of adults. On the roadside hillside, a large piece of loess was exposed, and the huge stone rolled down from here.
On the other side of the road, a silver van turned to the ground, seriously damaged, and the front windshield glass was completely broken. A red van was parked more than ten meters away from the van, and the front of the van was slightly damaged. Fortunately, neither of the drivers was injured.
At about 3 pm, the highway department cleared the scene and the traffic returned to normal.
Driver: The van is out of control and rolls around thinking that it is dead.
Master Xiong, who runs a van, is from Jiangxi province. He is nearly 40 years old and carries goods for a fruit company. In shock, he told the reporter about the incident.
“At that time, I drove along Provincial Highway 203 to Nantong. When I drove to Xiao Jiadao village, the hillside on the roadside suddenly fell.” Master Xiong said that the rolling speed of the huge stone was too fast. He had not responded yet and the side of the car was hit. The van was out of control on the spot and stopped after rolling for several rounds. Master Xiong felt dizzy and thought he was going to die “.
When master Xiong woke up, he found that the car turned over on the ground was seriously damaged and front windshield of the glass was broken. He untied his seat belt and climbed out of the cab with difficulty. He quickly escaped to the distance for fear of landslide.
“It was terrible at that time. If I drove fast for 1 second, the stone might hit the cab!” The driver of the red truck said that his speed was not fast at that time. Seeing a huge stone approaching, he quickly braked to avoid the huge stone, but the front of the car was still scraped by other gravel. (Reporter Chen Yubao Hua Wen/picture)
